Samuel Greene Hadley was born on January 28, 1836 in a small town called Cape Vincent New York. He died June 11, 1912. In Cape Vincent. He married Sarah Jane Anthony on October 8, 1860. Just before the Civil War.

Sarah Jane Anthony was born January 20, 1843 in a town called Lyme, New York. She died December 31, 1926. In Black River, New York. Sarah was the daughter of Darius Anthony and Huldah Scofield.

Samuel G. Hadley had obtained a patent of invention in the U.S.A. and also Canada for the "Hadley Snow Plow". The Plow was to keep railroad tracks clear of snow. He received his patent in the U.S. in 1868. He received his patent in Canada on the 18th day of October, 1873.

Copies of his patent and his plow drawins, along with other related papers are owned by his great-granddaughter Elaine, of New York. Elaine gave a copy to Samuel's great, great-granddaughter Althea Hadley. Elaine's father and Althea's father are First Cousins.
